## Questions

- [What is the difference between follower protection and account risk limits?](https://copilink.com/standalone/faq/risk-and-follower-protection/what-is-the-difference-between-follower-protection-and-account-risk-limits): Follower protection compares a follower’s position relationship with the leader and can flatten and disengage an out-of-sync follower. Account risk limits evaluate an individual account’s configured daily loss, profit, or evaluation rules and can stop or lock copying for that account.
- [Why does follower protection wait before acting?](https://copilink.com/standalone/faq/risk-and-follower-protection/why-does-follower-protection-wait-before-acting): Leader and follower fills can arrive at different times. The configured 1–120 second delay gives a transient mismatch time to resolve; Copilink rechecks the positions before it acts.
- [What does Keep stop-loss quantity in sync do?](https://copilink.com/standalone/faq/risk-and-follower-protection/what-does-keep-stop-loss-quantity-in-sync-do): It keeps the leader's protective stop the same size as the leader's open position. Scale out of half the position and the stop shrinks to match. Add to the position and the stop grows. Each follower's copied stop follows at its ratio. The option lives in the profile editor under Follower protection and is off until you turn it on.
- [Why was my stop-loss not resized?](https://copilink.com/standalone/faq/risk-and-follower-protection/why-was-my-stop-loss-not-resized): Open Activity, it tells you. Copilink leaves a stop alone when the instrument is flat, when there is more than one protective stop on it, when the stop sits on the same side as the position (that is an entry, not protection), when the stop has already started filling, or when the broker has not reported the position since the profile started. A rejected change also shows there, and then you fix the stop at the broker yourself. NinjaTrader ATM strategy stops always reject the change.
- [Why is follower protection unavailable with multiple open instruments?](https://copilink.com/standalone/faq/risk-and-follower-protection/why-is-follower-protection-unavailable-with-multiple-instruments): Follower protection compares one open position on the leader with one on the follower. If the leader or a follower has more than one instrument or contract month open, Copilink cannot work out the intended position, so protection pauses for that account until it is back to one.
- [Does Flatten guarantee that an account is flat?](https://copilink.com/standalone/faq/risk-and-follower-protection/does-flatten-guarantee-that-an-account-is-flat): No. Flatten means Copilink sends cancellation and close-out requests according to the active flow. The broker controls acceptance and fills, so rejects, disconnects, market conditions, or remaining working orders can leave exposure.
- [Which account risk rules can take action?](https://copilink.com/standalone/faq/risk-and-follower-protection/which-account-risk-rules-can-take-action): Configured daily loss, daily profit, evaluation goal with its buffer, and evaluation consistency rules can take action. Intraday or trailing drawdown information and funded-account consistency are monitoring-only in the current app.
- [What is the difference between Limit hit and Locked?](https://copilink.com/standalone/faq/risk-and-follower-protection/what-is-the-difference-between-limit-hit-and-locked): Limit hit means a limit was reached and the account was closed out. It clears by itself as soon as the limit is no longer reached, for example on the next trading day. Locked appears when that limit's lock option was on: nothing is copied into the account for the rest of the trading day, even after a restart, unless you unlock it in the inspector's Recovery tab.
- [Does Copilink enforce intraday or trailing drawdown?](https://copilink.com/standalone/faq/risk-and-follower-protection/does-copilink-enforce-intraday-or-trailing-drawdown): No. Intraday drawdown is tracked only. Copilink shows how far the account is below today's highest balance but never closes the account for it, even at $0 left. Use your broker's or prop firm's own drawdown rules for enforcement.
- [Do Copilink risk rules replace broker-side limits?](https://copilink.com/standalone/faq/risk-and-follower-protection/do-copilink-risk-rules-replace-broker-limits): No. Copilink-side rules and broker-enforced rules are separate systems. A broker can reject, restrict, or close activity independently, and a Copilink close-out request is still subject to broker acceptance and execution.
- [What happens when a leader or follower hits a risk limit?](https://copilink.com/standalone/faq/risk-and-follower-protection/what-happens-when-a-leader-or-follower-hits-a-risk-limit): A follower is switched off in every profile and then closed out; the leader and other followers carry on. A leader limit switches the profile off and closes the leader and every enabled follower, and copying stays off until you enable the profile again. In either case, check every account at your broker.
- [Does a follower re-enable automatically after protection disengages it?](https://copilink.com/standalone/faq/risk-and-follower-protection/does-a-protected-follower-re-enable-automatically): No. After follower protection disengages an account, inspect the broker state, resolve the mismatch or connection problem, and deliberately re-enable the follower only when its position is safe and intended.
- [Which protections depend on Live P&L or market data?](https://copilink.com/standalone/faq/risk-and-follower-protection/which-protections-depend-on-live-pnl-or-market-data): Any rule that looks at current account profit or loss: daily loss, daily profit, evaluation goal, and evaluation consistency. They need a live quote for what you hold, or a fresh Tradovate account snapshot as a slower fallback. When that input is waiting, stale, partial, or unavailable, copying carries on but those limits are not checked until good data returns.
