## Quick facts

- Product: Copilink Standalone
- Direct Tradovate and Rithmic desktop workflow
- Windows x64, macOS Intel, and macOS Apple silicon
- Local copying with per-follower sizing, account safeguards, analytics, and journaling

## What it does

Add one or more Tradovate logins with automatic sign-in or your browser, choose Demo or Live, confirm your accounts, and understand Tradovate's request limits.

## Why traders choose Copilink Standalone

- Choose a direct Tradovate and Rithmic desktop workflow on Windows or macOS, or stay entirely inside NinjaTrader 8 with the dedicated add-on.
- Manage exact or ratio-based follower sizing, per-account safeguards, and prop-firm-style risk rules from one focused workflow.
- Keep copying local on the trader's machine while cloud sync powers web analytics and journaling.

## Before you start

- Your Tradovate or prop-firm username and password.
- For browser sign-in, a working default browser.

## Choose how Copilink signs in

Open Connections → Add connection → Tradovate. You have two options.

- Automatic sign-in (recommended). You enter your Tradovate username and password, and Copilink signs in through a hidden built-in browser window. You can add several logins and connect them all at once, which suits traders with many prop-firm logins. Passwords are saved only in Windows Credential Manager or macOS Keychain, never in Copilink settings or backups.
- Sign in with browser. Copilink opens Tradovate's normal sign-in page in your default browser and you approve access there. Your password stays with Tradovate; Copilink keeps only the resulting session.

> **Demo and Live are separate.** Choose Demo or Live for each login. A Demo sign-in shows only Demo accounts, and a Live sign-in shows only Live accounts. If you're not sure which one holds an account, ask your broker or prop firm. If an account is missing, check this first.

## Connect with automatic sign-in

1. **Add your logins.** Choose Automatic sign-in. For each login, enter an optional connection name (for example, Apex 50K), the username and password, and Demo or Live. Use + Add another Tradovate login for more.
2. **Press Connect all.** Copilink signs in to every login at the same time and shows progress for each.
3. **Finish any verification.** If Tradovate asks for a code, a CAPTCHA, or consent, that login shows Open verification. Press it and finish the step in the page that opens inside the dialog. The other logins carry on meanwhile.
If it fails: If a login fails, press Edit failed logins, correct it, and connect again.
4. **Check the accounts.** Each finished login appears on Connections with its accounts. You can close the dialog at any time; logins that already finished stay connected.
Success: The row says Connected and lists the Demo or Live accounts you expected.

## Connect with your browser

1. **Choose the environment.** Choose Sign in with browser, pick Demo or Live, and press Continue in browser.
2. **Approve access.** Sign in on the Tradovate page that opens and approve access for Copilink.
3. **Return to Copilink.** Copilink picks up the result and lists the accounts. The sign-in page stays valid for about five minutes.
If it fails: If the page expires, you close it, or the browser says it worked but Copilink never updates, start again from Add connection. Check that security software isn't blocking the browser from returning to Copilink.

## Reconnecting and expired sign-ins

Turn on Auto-reconnect on a connection's row to reconnect it each time you open Copilink. An automatic sign-in logs in again with the saved password, and if Tradovate asks for verification, Copilink opens the sign-in dialog so you can finish it. A browser connection may need you to approve it again.

Sign-in required or Authentication failed means Tradovate no longer accepts the saved session. Reconnect the same connection; Copilink keeps its Demo or Live choice.

Saved sessions and passwords stay on this computer and are not included in backups, so a new or restored computer needs to sign in again.

## Tradovate and market data

Most Tradovate logins, including most prop-firm logins, don't give Copilink live prices. Copying still works, but open P&L updates slowly and your P&L limits react late. Connecting one Rithmic account fixes this for all your accounts. See [Market data and Live P&L](https://copilink.com/standalone/user-guide/market-data-and-live-pnl).

## Tradovate request limits

Tradovate limits how many requests an app can send. Placing, changing, and cancelling orders, flattening, and fetching account data all count, and every follower adds its own requests to each leader trade. Copilink budgets 60 requests per minute and 5,000 per hour and shows your usage under Tradovate request budget on the Follower profiles page. These are Copilink's budgets, not a promise of what Tradovate will accept.

When a limit is reached, requests wait for a cooldown and the connection can show Rate limited. Copies and account updates can be delayed until it clears. Don't keep reconnecting or resending orders: check your broker, wait for the cooldown, then read Activity for anything that didn't complete.

## Check it worked

- Each login's row on Connections says Connected.
- Only the Demo or Live accounts you expected are listed.

## If something goes wrong

- A login keeps waiting: press Open verification and finish the Tradovate step.
- An account is missing: check Demo versus Live, then ask Tradovate or your prop firm whether that login can see the account.
- Sign-in required keeps coming back: reconnect the connection and finish any verification Tradovate asks for.
