Quick Start Guide
Step 1
Connect Your Accounts
- • In NinjaTrader, go to Connections → Configure.
- • Add all connections you'll be using and enable Connect on startup for each.
- • Connect each account and verify they show "Connected".
- • Important: If Connection → Configure is missing go to Tools → Options → General → Multi-provider, enable it and restart NinjaTrader.
Step 2
Open Copilink Tab
- • In NinjaTrader, click New → Copilink.
- • A new tab opens with Leader, Instrument, and Copy Method selectors at the top.
- • The grid below shows all connected accounts (leader highlighted with ⭐ and highlighted in yellow).
Step 3
Select Leader & Instrument
- • Leader Account: Choose the account you'll be trading from.
- • Instrument: Select the instrument (e.g., ES 03-25, NQ 03-25).
- • Copy Method: Choose "Exact Quantity" or "Ratio".
- • The grid will refresh showing the leader row highlighted in yellow.
Step 4
Configure Followers
- • Toggle On for each follower you want to copy to.
- • Set Ratio if using Ratio mode (e.g., 1.0 = same size, 0.5 = half size).
- • Enable Cross Order if using Micro/Mini pairs (e.g., ES → MES). It is recommended to set your smallest account as leader, as Cross Order can cause orders not to fill due to price difference in micro/mini contracts.
- • Enable Market if you want all follower orders to be market orders (ignores leader's limit orders). This guarantees fills, but susceptible to slippage.
- • Enable Risk toggle if you want risk management (goals, limits, consistency) active for that follower.
Step 5
Set Risk Management (Optional)
- • Click the ⚙ (Risk) button for any follower.
- • Set Account Type (Eval, Funded, or Live).
- • Configure Daily Goal and Daily Loss Limit.
- • For Eval/Funded: set Account Goal, Trailing Drawdown, and Consistency %.
- • Use Apply to Similar to copy settings to other accounts with the same name prefix.
- • Click Save.
Step 6
Test & Go Live
- • Recommended: Test in SIM first. Use a SIM leader and SIM followers.
- • Place a few trades and test it out.
- • Once satisfied, switch leader to your real account and enable followers for live trading.
Follower Risk Settings

1. Account Information & Type
Account Name & Type Selector(Required)The header displays the account name. Use the Type dropdown (top right) to select Evaluation, Funded, or Live. This determines which risk features are available.
💡 Account type controls which sections appear. Eval and Funded show consistency tracking; Live accounts do not.
Starting Balance(Required)Enter the initial balance for this account (e.g., $25,000, $50,000, $100,000). This is the baseline for all profit/loss calculations, trailing drawdown, and consistency tracking.
💡 If incorrect, all risk calculations will be wrong. This should match your prop firm account size exactly.
Current Equity (Display Only)Shows the live account equity from NinjaTrader. Updates in real-time as positions change.
💡 This is read-only. It reflects your actual account value.
Payout / Reset ButtonPress this after requesting a payout or when you reset an account. It updates tracked metrics like total profit and consistency calculations.
💡 Use this ONLY after an actual payout or account reset. It will reset all tracked metrics to zero.
2. Daily Limits
Daily Goal $Set your target daily profit (e.g., 500). When reached, Copilink can auto-flatten and/or lock the account for the day.
Daily Goal Auto-flattenEnable this toggle to automatically flatten positions when Daily Goal is reached, or leave it off if you want tracking only.
Daily Goal RemainingShows how much profit is needed to hit your goal. Updates in real-time.
Loss Limit $Set your maximum daily loss allowed (e.g., 300). Enter as a positive number; Copilink treats it as a loss threshold.
Loss Limit Auto-flattenEnable this toggle to automatically flatten positions when Daily Loss Limit is reached, or leave it off if you want tracking only.
Loss Limit RemainingShows how much more you can lose before hitting the limit.
3. Evaluation / Account Goal
Account Goal $(Required)For Evaluation accounts: the profit target to pass (e.g., $3,000 on a $50k account).
💡 Required for consistency tracking on Eval accounts.
Account Goal Auto-flattenEnable to auto-flatten when account goal is reached. Useful for passing evals cleanly.
Buffer $Safety margin above the goal. If goal is $3,000 and buffer is $50, Copilink will flatten at $3,050 total profit.
💡 Protects against slippage and comissions. Recommended: $20-$50.
Account Goal RemainingShows profit remaining to reach goal (including buffer).
4. Trailing Threshold (Intraday)
Max Trailing Threshold $Maximum allowed loss from your peak balance. For example: if peak is $50,500 and trailing DD is $300, you'll breach the rule if balance drops below $50,200.
💡 This is used on Apex accounts, for example.
Peak Balance (Tracked)The highest equity Copilink has seen today. Updates automatically as you profit. You can manually override if needed.
💡 If you had previous trades before enabling Copilink, set this to your actual peak manually.
5. Consistency Tracker
Auto-flatten ToggleEnable to auto-flatten when today's profit exceeds Max Profit Today(Cons. Target).
Consistency %(Required)The maximum allowed daily profit as a percentage of your highest single-day profit. Common values: 30-50%.
💡 Set according to your prop firm's rules.
Activation Threshold $ (Funded Only)Total account profit required before consistency enforcement begins. Prevents early flatten on first day/s with small profits.
💡 Example: set to $1,000. Until account has $1k total profit, consistency won't trigger auto-flatten.
Highest Profit Day $ (Tracked)The largest single-day profit you've ever had on this account. Copilink tracks this automatically but you can override.
💡 If you traded before using Copilink, set this manually to your actual best day.
Max Profit Today (Cons. Target) - Right ColumnCalculated live based on Consistency % and Highest Day Profit. This is your ceiling for today.
Total Profit Required - Right ColumnHow much total account profit you need to pass the eval (based on consistency math).
Evaluation vs Funded BehaviorEval accounts: target is based on Account Goal. Funded accounts: target is based on total profits and highest day profit.
💡 Eval = fixed goal. Funded = dynamic target that grows as you profit.
6. Auto-Lockout
Lock on GoalWhen enabled, the account locks (cannot be re-enabled) when Daily Goal is reached. Unlocks automatically at next market open (11:00 PM EST).
💡 Hard protection. Once locked, the copier won't re-enable even if you try manually.
Lock on LossWhen enabled, the account locks if Daily Loss Limit is hit. Forces a full stop until next session.
💡 Prevents revenge trading after hitting goal. You cannot re-enable until tomorrow.
Lock Manually ButtonAllows you to manually lock the account for the rest of the day. Use if you want to stop trading early.
Locked TimestampShows when the account was locked (e.g., 'Locked: 14:35'). Only visible if currently locked.
7. Apply to Similar Accounts (Bulk Apply)
What It DoesCopy settings from the current account to other accounts with similar names (e.g., 'LTACC01' → 'LTACC02', 'LTACC03').
💡 Saves massive time when managing 5+ accounts with identical rules.
Selection DialogChoose which accounts to apply to and which settings to copy (Daily Limits, Eval Goal, Consistency, Trailing DD, Auto-Lockout).
💡 You can mix and match. Example: copy only consistency settings, leave daily limits alone.
Real-Time UpdatesAll changes apply immediately to the cache. All open Copilink tabs (all instruments) update automatically.
💡 No need to close/reopen tabs. Changes propagate instantly.
Important Usage Notes
Starting Balance Is Critical
For Evaluation and Funded accounts, the Starting Balance must match the prop-firm account size exactly (e.g., $25k, $50k, $100k). All goals, drawdown tracking, and consistency math depend on this value. If incorrect, risk calculations will be wrong.
Auto-Flatten Is Hard Enforcement
When Daily Loss, Daily Goal, Trailing Drawdown, or Consistency auto-flatten is enabled, Copilink will close the follower's position immediately once the level is hit.
Consistency Resets After Payout
Use the Payout / Reset button after you request a payout or when the prop firm resets the account. This clears the highest day profit and starts consistency tracking from the new baseline. Do NOT use this during normal trading.
Consistency Target on Funded Accounts
On funded accounts, the Consistency Target starts small because it is based on your highest single-day profit. Early on, total profits are low, so even a modest day sets a low target.
The Activation Threshold prevents early flattening by requiring your total account profit to exceed this threshold before auto-flatten triggers.
In practice: small profits → small target but protected by threshold; growing account → target increases and auto-flatten becomes meaningful only once you exceed the threshold.
VPS Mode
Enable VPS Mode in Settings if running on a Virtual Private Server. When using risk management on a VPS supervision is still required. When enabled:
• Accounts auto-disable after risk flatten (goal/loss/consistency)
• Accounts re-enable automatically at next market open (11:03 PM EST)
Why: On a VPS, you want Copilink to stop trading after hitting limits and only resume the next session.
Leader Account Risk
The leader account can have risk settings configured. If the leader is auto-flattened due to hitting a risk limit, ALL followers will also be flattened. This is by design: if the leader stops, everyone stops. Use with caution.
Improtant note: If possible, avoid using risk management on the leader account. Instead, manage risk only on follower accounts to prevent unintended mass flattening during a trading. If you insist on using risk on the leader, ensure you use the account as leader which has the highest risk limits(headroom).
Settings Persist Per Instrument
Copier settings (On/Off, Ratio, Cross Order, Market Only) are saved per instrument. Risk settings are saved per account globally. If you open ES 03-25 and NQ 03-25, followers may have different copier states but identical risk limits.
Advanced Features
Daily Performance Snapshot
Right-click anywhere on the main window and select Export Daily Snapshot to generate a shareable image of your trading performance.
Features:
• Total Profit (sum of all accounts)
• Total Equity (sum of all balances)
• Total Accounts count
• Top 10 accounts by profit
• Mask/unmask account names toggle
• Hide flat/negative accounts option
• Save as PNG or copy to clipboard
Use Case: Share your daily results on social media, prop firm discords, or keep personal records. Account names are masked by default (e.g., "BGF4***") for privacy.
Right-Click Context Menu
Access key features by right-clicking anywhere on the main window:
• Settings - Open global settings
• Export Daily Snapshot - Generate performance image
• Flatten All - Emergency position close
Tip: Settings and Export Stats were moved from the toolbar to reduce clutter. Right-click is now the primary way to access these features.
Cross Order (Micro/Mini)
Trade standard contracts on leader, automatically copy to micro contracts on follower (or vice versa). Copilink supports 25+ instrument pairs:
Supported Pairs:
• Indices: ES/MES, NQ/MNQ, YM/MYM, RTY/M2K
• Currencies: 6E/M6E, 6J/M6J, 6B/M6B, 6A/M6A, 6S/M6S
• Commodities: GC/MGC, CL/MCL, NG/MNG, HG/MHG
• Grains: ZS/XK, ZC/XC, ZW/XW
• Crypto: BTC/MBT, ETH/MET
• Metals: SI/SIL/SIC (Silver 3-tier)
• And more...
Example: Leader trades 1 ES, follower gets 10 MES (with 10:1 ratio).
Recommendation: Set your smallest account as leader to avoid fill issues. Micro contracts may not fill at exact same price as minis due to price differences.
Market Only Mode
When enabled, follower orders are always market orders, regardless of leader's order type (limit, stop, etc.).
Use Case: Leader uses limit orders for fills. You want follower to enter instantly at market to avoid missing the move.
Warning: Can cause slippage. Only use if immediate execution is more important than price.
Follower Protection (Settings)
In Settings → Follower Protection:
• Flatten if out of sync (quantity doesn't match leader)
• Flatten if position is opposite (long when leader is short)
• Configurable wait times before flatten (default: 3-8 seconds)
• Auto-disengage option after flatten
Use Case: Detect when follower drifts from leader due to partial fills or errors. Auto-flatten to prevent losses.
Display Customization
Column Visibility (Settings): Show/hide any column in the follower grid:
• Core: On, Account, Ratio, Cross Order, Market, Side, Qty
• PnL: Unrealized, Realized, Total PnL, Equity
• Risk: Goal Progress, Loss Left, DD Left, Eval Left
• Consistency: Cons %, Profit Req, Max Profit
• Controls: Risk Cog, Flatten Button
Hide Sim101 Accounts: Filter out Sim101 accounts from the grid entirely. They remain functional in background if enabled, but won't clutter your view.
Tip: Hide columns you don't use to reduce clutter and focus on what matters.
Automatic Session Reset
Copilink resets daily metrics automatically at 11:03 PM EST (market rollover):
• Daily PnL resets to 0
• Highest Day Profit updates if yesterday was a new record
• Locks are removed (accounts can trade again)
• Peak balance resets to current equity
Also triggers automatic reconnection of all accounts to ensure fresh start.
Tab Persistence (VPS)
Copilink saves which instruments you have open. When NinjaTrader restarts (e.g., after Windows update on VPS), all tabs reopen automatically with correct instruments.
Use Case: VPS reliability. Set up once, forget about it. Tabs will restore after any restart.
Leader Visual Indicator
The leader account is marked with ⭐ in the account name and has a subtle yellow background in the grid. This makes it immediately obvious which account is driving the copies.
Leader cannot be enabled as a follower (toggle is disabled). You can configure risk settings for the leader, but copier controls are locked.
Flatten All (Emergency)
The Flatten All button (accessible via right-click menu) flattens ALL accounts (leader + all followers) instantly. Optional setting to auto-disengage followers after flatten.
Use Case: Emergency exit. Market goes haywire, close everything immediately.
Warning: Cannot be undone. All positions close at market.
