How to Use Copilink Trade Copier

Install Copilink, open it from NinjaTrader, choose a Leader, enable followers, and use risk controls without guessing during a live setup.

Connect every Leader and Follower account inside the same NinjaTrader 8 desktop session.

Open NinjaTrader Control Center → New → Copilink.

Choose the Leader account and instrument for the current tab.

Overview

What Copilink does

One Leader

Trade from one selected Leader account. Copilink listens to that account's NinjaTrader order and execution activity.

Many followers

Turn On only the follower accounts that should receive copied trades in the same NinjaTrader session.

Per instrument tabs

Each Copilink tab is for one instrument. Use one tab for ES, another for NQ, another for CL, and so on.
Same NinjaTrader session only
Copilink is a local NinjaTrader 8 AddOn. It does not copy across separate computers by itself. For remote setups, run one Windows VPS and connect all accounts inside that same NinjaTrader session.
Before you start

Requirements

  • Windows PC or Windows VPS.
  • NinjaTrader 8 desktop, version 8.1.7.x or newer. This is mandatory for licensing.
  • Copilink AddOn installed through NinjaTrader.
  • All accounts connected in the same NinjaTrader session.
  • A Copilink tab for each instrument you trade.
NinjaTrader 8.1.7.x or newer is mandatory
Copilink licensing requires NinjaTrader 8.1.7.x or newer. Do not rely on NinjaTrader 8.1.5.2 for public setup or licensing.
Rithmic limits
NinjaTrader allows only one active Rithmic connection at a time. Rithmic PnL/account updates can also be slower than Tradovate, so PnL-based risk actions can trigger later.
Install

Install, update, and open Copilink

Standard install

  1. 1Download Copilink.zip from your dashboard.
  2. 2In NinjaTrader 8, go to Tools → Import → NinjaScript AddOn.
  3. 3Select the Copilink.zip file directly. Do not unzip it first unless import fails.
  4. 4Restart NinjaTrader.
  5. 5Open Control Center → New → Copilink.

Updating

Download the new Copilink.zip, import it through Tools → Import → NinjaScript AddOn, restart NinjaTrader, then open Copilink again. Settings normally remain under %APPDATA%\Copilink.
Open Copilink from Control Center → New → Copilink. Licensing is tied to your NinjaTrader account email. For license or email changes, contact contact@copilink.com.
Connections

Connect accounts and use tabs correctly

Connect accounts first

  1. 1Open NinjaTrader Control Center → Connections → Configure.
  2. 2Add each broker or prop-firm connection.
  3. 3Connect every account you want Copilink to see.
  4. 4If Connections → Configure is missing, enable Multi-provider under Tools → Settings → General, then restart if prompted.

Tabs

Use one tab per instrument. If you trade ES and NQ, create one ES tab and one NQ tab.

Tabs cannot be renamed directly. To change the visible tab name, change the selectedinstrument inside that tab.

Copilink saves open instrument tabs separately from NinjaTrader workspace window placement.

Leader account

The Leader is the account you trade from. The Leader does not need its follower On toggle enabled; its copier toggle is locked/off and the grid Leader marker is the safest confirmation.

Follower grid

Turn On only the accounts that should copy. Set Ratio only when Copy Method is Ratio. Use Cross Order only for supported mini/micro pairs.
Copying

Copy modes, Cross Order, and Market

Exact Quantity

Copies the same contract quantity as the Leader. If the Leader buys 3, each enabled follower buys 3.

Ratio

Multiplies Leader size by each follower Ratio. Leader 2 with Ratio 0.5 copies 1 contract. Futures quantities are whole contracts, so values below 1 do not send an order.

Cross Order

Copies supported mini/micro pairs such as ES↔MES, NQ↔MNQ, YM↔MYM, RTY↔M2K, GC↔MGC, CL↔MCL, BTC↔MBT, and ETH↔MET. The paired contract must use the matching expiry.

Market toggle

Market off copies working orders. Market on waits for Leader fills and sends market orders, so stops, targets, and limits are not pre-placed on followers.
Keep Market off unless you understand the tradeoff
Market off is recommended for most users because working limit, stop, stop-loss, and take-profit orders can be copied before they fill. Market on prioritizes execution after Leader fills and can add slippage.

Follower grid column reference

Core copier columns
On

Turns copying On for that follower row. The Leader row is the source account, so its copier toggle is locked/off.

Account

The NinjaTrader account name. The selected Leader is marked in the grid; if the visual marker ever looks confusing, reselect the Leader and confirm with the logs.

Ratio

Follower size multiplier used only when Copy Method is Ratio. Futures quantities are whole contracts, so Copilink floors the calculated quantity.

Cross Order

Turns on supported mini/micro conversion for that row. The paired contract must use the matching expiry.

Market

Market off copies working orders. Market on waits for Leader fills and sends follower market orders.

Risk Mgmt

Risk edition monitoring toggle. Saved risk settings do not monitor or trigger while this is off.

Side / Qty

The current position direction and open quantity NinjaTrader reports for that account/instrument.

Flatten

Closes one follower row and cancels that follower's working orders first.

PnL and equity columns
Unrealized

Open-position PnL reported by NinjaTrader for that account.

Realized

Closed PnL reported by NinjaTrader for the current session/account context.

Total PnL

Realized plus unrealized PnL as reported by NinjaTrader. PnL-based risk can only act after this data updates.

Equity

Current account equity / net liquidation value when NinjaTrader provides it.

Summary bar

Aggregates visible follower stats. If it shows $0.00, confirm accounts are connected and NinjaTrader is updating PnL/equity.

Risk edition columns
Daily Goal

Progress toward the account's daily profit goal.

Loss Left

How much session loss room remains before the configured daily loss limit.

DD Left

Remaining room versus the tracked peak/current equity drawdown. This is tracking display, not a separate drawdown auto-flatten rule.

Eval Left

Remaining profit to the Account Goal plus any configured Buffer.

Cons. %

Current consistency percentage based on the highest profit day versus total profit.

Profit Req.

Minimum total profit needed for the current highest-day profit to satisfy the consistency percentage.

Cons. Target

Today's calculated consistency target. If consistency auto-flatten is enabled, this is the daily profit level Copilink watches.

Risk

Opens the follower's per-account risk settings window.

Risk columns are references, not magic protection
Risk columns help you see remaining room and calculated targets. The account still needs Risk Mgmt on, the relevant rule enabled, and fresh NinjaTrader account data before any risk action can trigger.
Safety

Flatten safely

Flatten All

Use Copilink Flatten All to close the Leader and followers for the current tab/instrument with replication temporarily suspended.

Flatten follower

The Flatten button on a follower row closes that one follower account and cancels working orders first.

NinjaTrader flatten warning

If you manually flatten in NinjaTrader while followers are enabled, Leader flatten activity can be copied. Turn followers off first if flattening manually.
Copilink Flatten All is not the same as NinjaTrader Flatten Everything
Copilink Flatten All temporarily suspends copying, closes follower accounts for the current tab/instrument, then closes the Leader. If you use NinjaTrader's own flatten controls while followers are still enabled, Leader flatten activity can be copied.
Controls

Settings, logs, columns, and support tools

Right-click menu

Right-click near the follower/account grid for Settings, Daily Stats Image, Flatten All, Disable/Enable Risk for All, and Help/About.

Column Visibility

Use Settings to show or hide columns such as PnL, risk, drawdown, and consistency. This changes the display only; it does not change copying behavior.

Disable / Enable Risk for All

The right-click menu can toggle Risk Mgmtfor all follower rows on the current tab. It does not replace each account's saved risk settings.

Send Logs

Open Settings from the right-click menu and use Send Logs. Include the issue time, instrument, Leader account, follower account, and what you expected to happen.

Daily Stats Image

Use Daily Stats Image to preview, mask account names, save a PNG, or copy a shareable stats card.

Selected Leader

The top most yellow account in the accounts grid is the active leader account, even if the leader dropdown selector shows Sim101 or another account.
Risk

Risk management quick setup

Risk Mgmt must be enabled
Risk settings can be saved while Risk Mgmt is off, but they will not monitor or trigger for that account until the Risk Mgmt toggle is on.
Leader risk can flatten followers
Risk can apply to the Leader. If a risk rule flattens the Leader, that activity can also flatten enabled followers because Copilink copies Leader activity. Choose the account furthest from its limits/goals as the Leader.
Copilink Risk edition adds per-account monitoring for Daily Goal, Daily Loss, Account Goal + Buffer, consistency rules, session lockout, VPS Mode, and Risk Management Hysteresis. Follower Protection is configured separately in Settings.Read the full Risk Management Guide →
Fixes

Basic troubleshooting

Trades are not copying

Double check the selected instrument expiration date, selected Leader and follower On toggle.

Stops or targets are not copying

Most often Market is on. Turn Market off if you want stop-loss, take-profit, limit, and other working orders copied before they fill.

Risk settings are saved but not triggering

Risk edition must be installed, Risk Mgmt must be on for that account, and NinjaTrader must be reporting PnL/equity updates.

Copilink says it is already open

Only one Copilink window can be open. Switch to the workspace where it is open, close it there, then reopen it in the current workspace.

License required or expired

Confirm NinjaTrader is 8.1.7.x or newer, your NinjaTrader account email matches your Copilink license email, then restart NinjaTrader.

Cross Order misses fills

Due to mini and micro price differences the copied order on the cross contract may not fill or Ratio may calculate below 1 contract.

Risk settings keep resetting

Open the Risk window, make the change, then click Save. Closing the window without Save can leave you with the old saved values.

Consistency target looks too low

Verify Account Type, Starting Balance, Current Equity, Highest profit day, Activation $, and the firm's consistency percentage in the Risk window.
