Questions and answers
What does a Copilink backup contain?
A backup contains the local Copilink database state used for settings, profiles, and stored history. It excludes broker passwords and authorization secrets, but it can still contain sensitive trading and account-related data.
Does restoring a backup merge it with current data?
No. Restore is a replace operation, not a merge. Stop copying, make broker exposure safe, create a fresh backup of the current state, then select the intended Copilink backup and follow the app’s confirmation flow.
Does uninstalling Copilink delete local data?
The released documentation does not claim an uninstall data outcome because it is not verified across supported installers. Create a backup and record the data-folder location before uninstalling or repairing the app.
Which notifications and sounds are supported?
Copilink provides in-app activity and alert states. Native desktop notification delivery is currently available on macOS, while configured sounds are supported on Windows and macOS, subject to operating-system audio and notification permissions.
How do Copilink Standalone updates work?
Installed production packages check at startup and about every four hours. An available package can download in the background, then waits in Ready to restart until you deliberately restart Copilink.
Can an update restart while a follower profile is active?
No. The update restart is blocked while a profile is active. Stop new leader activity, make broker exposure safe, disable the profile, wait for it to become inactive, and verify positions and working orders before restarting.
Is it safe to update with open positions?
Do not assume it is safe. Disabling a profile or restarting Copilink does not flatten open positions, and cleanup of working orders can fail. Manage exposure deliberately and verify every position and working order at the broker before and after restart.
What does Trading day mean in Copilink?
Risk rules use the configured session window and maintenance gap, which defaults to America/Chicago with a 4:00 p.m. close and 5:00 p.m. start. Trade-history date navigation instead uses the calendar date in your selected Trading time zone.
Can I turn Live P&L off?
Yes, but rules and protections that need current P&L cannot operate from a disabled value. Review the account risk rules first and do not treat an Off state as active P&L protection.
