Prop firm consistency rule calculator
Enter your best day, the profit it is measured against, and your firm's percentage. See whether you pass today and exactly how much more you need to make on ordinary days if you don't.
Measure the best day against
Most payout rules: the best day as a share of total net profit in the period.
Enter the percentage from your firm's current rules. The percentage shortcuts above are examples; the firm presets below apply only to their named programs.
Choose a firm to load one of its programs' percentage and base. Every program is also in the table below.
Best day as a share of total profit
40%
Over the limit
Your best day is too large a share of the base. You need more profit on other days before this passes.
- Largest best day allowed at this base
- $1,350.00
- Total profit needed for this best day to pass
- $6,000.00
- Extra profit still needed, on days smaller than the best day
- $1,500.00
Formula: best day ÷ base ≤ rule. To pass with the current best day, the base must reach best day ÷ rule. A new, larger best day moves the goalposts again.
Example figures are pre-filled so you can see how it works; replace them with your own. This tool applies one formula. Your firm's current rules decide which base, which period, and which percentage apply to you.

How to calculate a prop firm consistency rule
The math is simple. What trips traders up is which base the firm uses and when the clock resets.
The formula
Best day ÷ base ≤ rule. A 30% rule with $4,500 total profit allows a best day of $1,350.
Two kinds of base
Evaluations usually measure against the profit target. Payouts usually measure against total net profit since the account started or since the last payout.
You cannot shrink the best day
The only way to pass after a big day is to grow the base with smaller winning days. Losing days shrink the base and make it worse.
A bigger day resets the target
If a new day beats the old best day, the base you need moves up with it. The calculator's 'needed' figure assumes no new best day.
Copying makes it a per-account problem
When one leader feeds several accounts, each account's best day and total are its own. A ratio-sized follower can pass while the leader fails.
Firms word it differently
Gross vs net, per-payout vs lifetime, evaluation vs funded. Read the exact rule for each account before you rely on a number.
Consistency questions, answered plainly.
What is a prop firm consistency rule?
A cap on how much of your profit can come from a single day. If the rule is 30% and you have made $4,500, no one day may account for more than $1,350 of it. Firms apply it to evaluations, to payout requests, or both, and the percentage and the base it is measured against differ from firm to firm.
How is the consistency percentage calculated?
Best single day profit divided by the base, where the base is either your total net profit in the period or the profit target, depending on the rule. Multiply by 100 for a percentage. If that number is above the firm's limit, the rule is breached.
How much more do I need to make to pass?
Divide your best day by the rule percentage to get the base you need. Subtract your current base from it. That is the extra profit you need to earn on days smaller than your best day. The calculator shows this as a dollar figure.
Does a losing day reset the consistency rule?
Usually not. Most firms measure the best day against net profit, so a losing day lowers the base and makes the ratio worse, not better. Check your firm's wording; some use gross profit or a rolling window.
Can Copilink enforce a consistency rule automatically?
Copilink for NinjaTrader 8 Risk edition includes consistency limits with an automatic lockout. Copilink Standalone can act on evaluation consistency rules and monitors funded-account consistency without enforcing it in the current version.
Stop calculating it by hand after every session.
Copilink tracks per-account daily profit, goals, and consistency as you trade, and can act on a breach before it costs you an evaluation. Copilink for NinjaTrader 8 Risk edition enforces consistency limits with a lockout; Copilink Standalone acts on evaluation rules and monitors funded ones.
