Questions and answers
What is the difference between Tradovate Demo and Live in Copilink?
Demo and Live are separate Tradovate environments with separate authorization and account discovery. Select the environment that contains the accounts you intend to use; authorizing Live does not make Demo accounts appear, and vice versa.
What is Tradovate automatic sign-in?
It is the recommended way to connect Tradovate. You enter your Tradovate username and password in Copilink, pick Demo or Live, and Copilink signs in for you. You can add several prop-firm logins at once and press Connect all. If Tradovate asks for a code, a CAPTCHA, or consent, that page appears inside the dialog so you can finish it there.
Why does Tradovate connection open my browser?
Only if you chose Sign in with browser. That option opens the normal Tradovate page in your default browser, you approve it, and Copilink picks up the result when you come back. Automatic sign-in does not use your browser at all. It signs in through a small built-in page and only shows it if Tradovate asks you for a code, a CAPTCHA, or consent.
Why do I need to load and select a Rithmic system?
Rithmic credentials can expose systems for different providers or environments. Copilink loads the systems available to your username, then connects to the system and server location you select.
Why is one of my broker accounts missing?
The most common cause is the wrong Tradovate environment or Rithmic system. Confirm the selected environment, system, and credentials, reconnect once, and wait for account discovery to finish.
Does a connected broker account guarantee market data?
No. A connection can be Connected while market data is waiting, partial, or unavailable. Most prop-firm Tradovate logins do not share quotes with apps like Copilink at all. Without quotes, Live P&L falls back to slower Tradovate snapshots, or goes Unavailable if that fallback is off. Copying still works, but P&L-based limits get slower or stop being checked.
Can a Rithmic feed supply market data to my Tradovate accounts?
Yes, for matching contracts. Copilink shares live quotes across connections, so one Rithmic prop-firm account with market data can drive live P&L for Tradovate accounts that have no feed of their own. That gives your P&L limits the fastest input without leaning on slow Tradovate snapshots. Place one micro contract trade on each symbol and close it to check live P&L before relying on it.
Does Copilink reconnect broker links automatically?
Yes, when Reconnect automatically when Copilink starts is on for that connection. An automatic Tradovate sign-in can log in fresh from its saved password, and Rithmic uses its saved password. A code, a CAPTCHA, consent, a missing password, or wrong credentials still need you. Reconnecting does not promise that every account comes back or that market data and copying are ready straight away.
What should I do if Tradovate authorization expires?
Stop new leader activity and check your positions at the broker first. Then reconnect the same connection. An automatic sign-in logs in again from its saved password and may ask you to finish a verification step. A browser connection needs you to approve it in the browser again. Copilink keeps the same Demo or Live choice. Confirm the accounts and market data before you restart a profile.
What should I do if a broker connection keeps dropping?
Stop new leader activity and check the network and broker service before repeatedly reconnecting. Confirm open positions and working orders at the broker, then record the connection message and time if the problem continues.
Can a profile use Tradovate and Rithmic accounts?
A profile can use discovered accounts from supported broker links when the required leader and follower connections are ready. Confirm the intended account labels, market data, symbol support, and sizing, then place one micro contract trade and close it to check every follower copies correctly.
