Prerequisites
- Every intended broker connection is Connected and exposes the expected accounts.
- Leader and followers are flat with no unexpected working orders.
- You know the smallest leader quantity and intended follower contract count.
What a profile controls
- One leader account whose new eligible activity drives copying.
- One or more enabled follower accounts.
- Per-follower contract ratio and optional Cross Order mapping.
- An optional exact symbol whitelist.
- Out-of-sync and opposite-direction protection delays and optional disengagement.
Create a profile
Create and name the profile
Open Follower profiles → Create profile and use a name that identifies the environment and intended setup.
Success: A saved profile card appears.
Select one leader
Choose the account whose future order activity should drive copying.
Success: The leader appears at the top and is not offered as a follower.
If not: If it is unavailable, check whether another profile already uses the account.
Add followers
Select each account that should receive copied order attempts.
Success: Every intended follower appears once and remains enabled.
If not: Accounts already assigned to another profile or selected as leader are excluded.
Set symbols and protection
Leave the exact symbol whitelist empty for all otherwise eligible symbols, or enter exact broker symbols. Configure protection delays from 1 to 120 seconds.
Success: The saved card shows the intended profile and protection configuration.
Calculate follower quantity
Copilink calculates whole follower contracts as round down(leader quantity × follower ratio). A result below one is skipped; futures contracts are not fractional.
| Leader quantity | Ratio | Follower quantity | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 0.50 | 0 | No follower order. |
| 2 | 0.50 | 1 | One contract. |
| 3 | 0.50 | 1 | 1.5 is rounded down. |
| 1 | 1.00 | 1 | Same contract count. |
| 2 | 1.50 | 3 | Three contracts. |
| 3 | 2.00 | 6 | Six contracts. |
The visible minimum ratio is 0.10. The broker, buying power, account, and prop-firm rules still control the permitted maximum size.
Cross Order and symbol mapping
| Standard | Micro | Standard | Micro | Standard | Micro |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ES | MES | NQ | MNQ | YM | MYM |
| RTY | M2K | CL | MCL | GC | MGC |
| SI | SIL | BTC | MBT | ETH | MET |
Cross Order substitutes the paired root while preserving the contract suffix. The ratio still scales contract count; Copilink does not calculate dollar-risk equivalence. An unsupported root remains unchanged instead of producing a mapping error.
Start, stop, switch, edit, and delete
- Enable: Copilink checks connections, storage, access, and risk readiness. Starting becomes Active when ready.
- Disable: new copying stops and Copilink attempts copied-working-order cleanup. Open positions remain.
- Switch: the previous setup stops and the selected profile starts. Make all accounts flat before switching.
- Edit while active: copying pauses, the prior setup stops, the saved configuration changes, and Copilink attempts to restart it.
- Delete: removes the saved profile after stopping it if needed. It does not close broker positions.
Existing positions
What success looks like
- The intended profile reaches Active.
- The leader and every follower are connected, flat, and assigned once.
- Hand calculations match the follower quantities you expect for the smallest planned leader trade.
- A small simulation order produces the expected follower outcomes at the brokers.
Troubleshooting
- Starting persists: open Activity and resolve required connection, storage, access, or risk readiness.
- Follower receives no order: check enable state, ratio flooring, exact symbol whitelist, Cross Order mapping, risk state, broker restriction, and Activity.
- Wrong quantity: compare broker fills, ratio flooring, partial fills, reversals, and whether an inline value was changed while Active.
- Issue after edit or flatten: keep copying off and inspect broker positions and working orders before retrying.
